The Minnesota Vikings are hoping that new general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O'Connell bring positive results in 2022. The franchise has won just one playoff game over the last four seasons, leaving the fanbase hungry for some actual change.

The Vikings have used free agency and the 2022 NFL Draft to help flesh out their roster, but not everyone is guaranteed to make the 53-man roster. Whether it's a young up-and-comer or a seasoned veteran, some players' dreams are bound to be crushed if Minnesota thinks it's for the betterment of its season.

Here's a look at three Vikings players that might not be on the roster at the start of the 2022 NFL season.

Vikings Roster Rumors

1. Olabisi Johnson, WR

Olabisi Johnson showed some signs of potential during his first two NFL seasons but sat out for the entire 2021 campaign after tearing his ACL in training camp. There's just no guarantee that Johnson is going to show up to training camp as the same player he was before. Adam Thielen, Justin Jefferson and K.J. Osborn are all clearly above the 25-year-old on the depth chart and they have other depth options that can fill in as the No. 4 wideout. If Johnson doesn't turn heads at training camp, he may have to look for a new team for the 2022 season even begins.

2. Greg Joseph, K

When Greg Joseph signed a one-year restricted agent tender last month, it didn't exactly do much for his long-term future in Minnesota. The situation was made murkier when the Vikings signed undrafted kicker Gabe Brkic to a three-year deal earlier in May. Brkic only missed one extra point on 160 attempts over four years with the Oklahoma Sooners, whereas Joseph missed four last season alone. Although Brkic's 82.6% career field-goal percentage isn't eye-popping, he's still good enough to give his veteran counterpart some competition at training camp. If Joseph can't handle what the rookie brings to the table, his Vikings tenure could be over soon.

3. C.J. Ham, FB

There isn't much of a place for fullbacks in today's NFL, highlighted by the Vikings' C.J. Ham averaging 18.4 touches over the last five seasons while spending most of his time on special teams. Ham could have even less of a role in the Vikings offense since O'Connell grew used to playing without an FB in the Los Angeles Rams' offense. The 28-year-old veteran does contribute with a catch every now and then, but that's a role that can be easily filled. Additionally, the Vikings can save $1.95 million if they cut Ham after June 1, giving them even more incentive to move on from the fullback.
