Wake Forest defensive end Carlos Basham Jr. is projected to be drafted in the late-first or early-second round in a lot of NFL mock drafts. With a lot of teams needing a talented edge rusher this offseason, Basham could be their guy.

Basham suited up in 42 games for Wake Forest over the course of four seasons. With his collegiate career coming to an end, he finishing with 173 total tackles, 19.5 sacks, 8 passes defended, 7 forced fumbles and a touchdown. He's also a two-time All-ACC player.

With that being said, here's a look at three teams that should select Basham at the 2021 NFL Draft.

3. Baltimore Ravens (No. 27)

The Baltimore Ravens lost defensive end Yannick Ngakoue to free agency this offseason, leaving the team in dire need of an edge rusher. If Basham is still available at No. 27, the Ravens shouldn't hesitate to use the pick on him. PFF has given him a solid overall grade of 71.2. If Basham can have that success at the NFL level, he'll be an excellent piece of the Ravens pass rush for the foreseeable future.

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (No. 32)

The EDGE position is one thing that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would like to address at some point in the draft this month. While there are rumors that they could draft a wide receiver, the Buccaneers can afford to take whichever prospect is the best player available. If Basham is on the board at No. 32, he could fit that description. Tampa Bay needs a quality edge rusher and Basham could become that right out of the gate.

1. Buffalo Bills (No. 30)

Assuming Basham is available for the Buffalo Bills at No. 30, he could make an immediate impact on the team. Finding an edge rusher is what the Bills have been after this entire offseason and Basham could offer the simplest of solutions. The Bills were a middle-of-the-pack team when it came to getting to the quarterback in 2020, averaging 2.3 sacks per game (T-14th). Adding Basham, who recorded 5 sacks and 16 quarterback hurries in seven games last season could help improve that number.
