Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie was coming off of a career year during the 2019-20 campaign before an ACL tear limited him to just three games this season. Despite the injury, Dinwiddie will be a prized free agent this summer and can enter unrestricted free agency by declining his $12.3 million player option, which he is reportedly set on doing.

Here's three teams that could sign the 28-year-old this offseason.

Spencer Dinwiddie Free Agency

3. Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks need to inject some top talent into their roster if they have any hopes of competing in the west and making Luka Doncic happy. Kristaps Porzingis' contract makes maximizing cap space hard, but Dinwiddie may command a little less coming off of an injury. The guard put up 20.6 points, 6.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game for the Nets in 2019-20 while making 4.7 threes per game (on 9.7 attempts). Dinwiddie could slot in right beside Doncic and give this offense the boost it desperately needs to compete with the elite offenses in the Western Conference.

2. New York Knicks

Dinwiddie may not have to go far for his next team. The New York Knicks have momentum after making the playoffs this season and are loaded with max cap space to make some serious moves. New York desperately needs a top starting point guard, and Dinwiddie could fill that role for years to come. He has improved statistically across the board each season since entering the league in 2014-15, and he's ready to lead a team at PG in his prime. The Knicks are already a top defensive team, but they could use a spark plug scorer like Dinwiddie after finishing with the fifth-fewest PPG (107.0) as a team.

1. Los Angeles Lakers

There's already rumblings out there linking the Los Angeles Lakers and Dinwiddie. LA was bounced from the playoffs in the first round so they're focused on reloading for a title run next season. It appears forward Kyle Kuzma may be on the chopping block, and the Nets won't want to lose their point guard for nothing, so a sign-and-trade involving Dinwiddie is a real possibility. That'd give the Nets an offensive boost at forward outside of Kevin Durant, and it'd give the Lakers a guard capable of carrying the offensive load if anything happens to LeBron James or Anthony Davis. The rich may get richer this offseason if LA is able to pull off a trade for one the top point guards on the market.
