WNBA Best Bets and Predictions Today
New York Liberty vs Atlanta Dream
New York Liberty Moneyline (+106)
Atlanta has won three straight meetings against New York, including Game 1, but Game 2 looks different with Allisha Gray ruled out because of a hand injury. Gray led Atlanta in scoring during the regular season, leaving the Dream without an important piece on both ends of the floor.
New York also has plenty to clean up from the opener. The Liberty got 46 combined points from Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu but only six from their bench, while Atlanta capitalized on 21 New York turnovers. With the Liberty facing a potential 0-2 deficit, I like the defending champions to respond and even the series.
Las Vegas Aces vs Golden State Valkyries
Golden State Valkyries Moneyline (-128)
Golden State's Game 1 win wasn't driven by hot shooting. The Valkyries shot just 37.7% from the field and 29.2% from three but dominated the possession battle, grabbing 52 rebounds and 17 offensive boards while holding Las Vegas to 33.9% shooting.
The Aces swept Golden State 3-0 during the regular season, so a bounce-back wouldn't be surprising, but their rotation could be thinner tonight. Jewell Loyd is doubtful with a leg injury, while Dana Evans and Steph Talbot are also dealing with injuries. Golden State went 17-5 at home during the regular season, and I like the Valkyries to take advantage of home court again.
A'ja Wilson 25+ Points (-152)
Wilson still scored 24 points in Game 1 despite shooting just 8-for-21 from the field. That came after she entered the series averaging 32.0 points per game during the first round and having enjoyed plenty of success against Golden State previously.
With Las Vegas trying to avoid an 0-2 hole and potentially missing some backcourt scoring, Wilson should remain the focal point of the offense. She attempted 21 field goals and 11 free throws in Game 1, giving her enough volume to make 25+ points.
WNBA Betting -- Frequently Asked Questions
What does the point spread mean in WNBA betting?
The point spread is a margin set by oddsmakers to level the playing field between two unevenly matched teams. For example, if the Dallas Wings are listed at -7.5, they need to win by 8 or more points for a bet on them to cash. Conversely, a bet on their opponent at +7.5 wins if that team loses by 7 or fewer points — or wins outright.
What is the moneyline?
The moneyline is a straight-up bet on which team wins the game, with no spread involved. Favorites carry a negative number (e.g., -200, meaning you must risk $200 to win $100), while underdogs carry a positive number (e.g., +170, meaning a $100 bet returns $170 profit).
How does the over/under (game total) work?
Oddsmakers set a projected combined score for the game, and bettors wager on whether the actual total will go over or under that number. For instance, if the total is set at 154.5 points, an over bet wins if both teams combine for 155 or more points. WNBA totals can swing based on pace of play, rest situations, and injuries, so it's worth tracking those factors before placing a total bet.
What are WNBA player props?
Player props are bets tied to an individual player's statistical performance rather than the game's outcome. Common prop bet markets include points scored, assists, rebounds, three-pointers made, and combinations of those stats.
