WNBA Best Bets
Indiana Fever at Los Angeles Sparks
Fever ML (-122)
Caitlin Clark Over 20.5 Points (-118)
Is tonight the night that the Indiana Fever finally get in the win column? They have a real shot as they head out west to take on the Los Angeles Sparks.
In the matchup of the top two picks in this year's draft facing off, all eyes should be on the lone game of tonight's slate with Caitlin Clark and Cameron Brink going head-to-head.
It hasn't been the start to the season that the Fever imagined. They've started off 0-5, but their last two games have shown that they're on the cusp of a victory. Indiana battled to an 88-84 loss against the Connecticut Sun, which was the best sign of them turning a corner. Two nights ago, the Fever then fell to the Seattle Storm in an 85-83 loss, coming within a score to nab their first win. It's why as they take on a Sparks team that is rebuilding, I have confidence in the Fever being able to get their first W of the year.
Los Angeles does have a win on the season. They were able to defeat the Washington Mystics, who also sit at 0-5 on the young WNBA season. It was a two-point win for the Sparks, giving the confidence that a team with the talent of Clark and Aliyah Boston leading can finally get in the win column.
Both of these teams rank at the bottom of the league in points per game with the Sparks having the slight edge at 77.7 points compared to the Fever's 76.8 mark. Indiana has played two more games, so take that into consideration.
And, if you're considering the Fever to get their first win, then FanDuel Sportsbook is offering a 30% profit boost for any WNBA game beginning tonight -- making their moneyline bet and potential props all the more appealing.
Speaking of prop bets, let's dive into one for this game tonight. If the Fever are going to get this win tonight, you know why it's going to happen: Clark delivers in every facet of the game.
The 2024 WNBA first round pick has had some ups and downs through her first few weeks, but it's apparent that she is going to be a star in this league. Through her first five games, she leads the Fever with 17.8 points per game to go along with 4.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists.
I'm taking Clark to score Over 20.5 Points (-118) tonight -- something she's done twice in her last three games.
It's her ability to score from either beyond the range or at the basket that made her the top pick in the draft. When the Fever win, they're going to need her at the top of her game. Right now, Clark is shooting 40.3% from the field and 32.6% from three-point range. In her last three games, those percentages have only gone up to 45.5% from the field and 36.0% beyond the arc. This is the right time to bet on Clark in a game where she should be able to control the pace for her team.
Run with the Fever (and their star rookie) as they look to earn their first win of the season over the Sparks.
