Shaka Smart on UConn: "This Is the Best UConn Team That We've Played."

Shaka Smart has seen enough.

After six meetings with UConn during his time in the Big East with Marquette, Smart is convinced that this rendition of Huskies is the best that he's gone against.

UConn beat Marquette 81-53 last Saturday in Hartford. The Huskies are currently No. 1 in this week's ROTHSTEIN 45.

"This is the best UConn team that we've played," Smart said this week on the College Hoops Today Podcast. "But my bias is on the cultural side -- how a team acts, interacts, and responds. Another huge advantage of this year's UConn team is that there is zero -- and I mean zero -- entitlement with their team and their players. It doesn't matter who leads them in scoring. It doesn't matter who's in the game in the crucial moment. It doesn't matter who's going to take the last shot. Those guys have unreal connectivity to do what it takes to win."

The Huskies will visit Creighton tonight -- a game where UConn is a 2.5-point favorite -- while Marquette is 19-6 and will next host DePaul in Milwaukee on Wednesday night.
