World Cup Predictions Today: Senegal vs. Iraq

Best Bet: Nicolas Jackson Anytime Goalscorer (+105)

Senegal and Iraq are both on zero points. A win would give either a shot to advance, and a victory by multiple goals -- to help goal difference -- would aid the winning team's chances of advancing.

Senegal are a big favorite, listed at -450 to win, and I think they'll try to pour it on if they jump out to a lead.

While neither side has gotten a point versus Norway and France, Senegal at least put up a fight, especially in a 3-2 loss to Norway. Iraq, meanwhile, lost 4-1 (Norway) and 3-0 (France) in its first two outings and should be overmatched once again.

Jackson has been active so far, averaging 2.09 shots per 90. With Iraq likely to sit back, Jackson's height and heading ability could be a factor on balls into the box. After scoring eight goals in only 12 starts for Bayern Munich, he's capable of taking advantage of whatever chances fall his way.

How to bet on the 2026 World Cup.

World Cup FAQ

What are three-way odds in soccer?

Unlike traditional moneyline betting in American sports, soccer uses three-way odds. You're betting on one of three outcomes: Home Team win, Away Team Win or a Draw. This is the fundamental difference from NFL or NBA lines. The draw exists because soccer matches can end in ties. Three-way odds account for this possibility.

When does the US play in the 2026 World Cup?

The Americans have completed their group stage matches, winning Group D. Their Round of 32 match against Bosnia takes place at 8 p.m. ET on July 1.

When is the 2026 World Cup Final?

The final is scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Who is the favorite to win the 2026 World Cup?

Spain leads the betting board at +450 odds to win the World Cup, per FanDuel Sportsbook's World Cup odds, followed by France at +500 and England at +700.
