The Stanley Cup Final heads into Game 2 tonight as the Edmonton Oilers aim to even up the series.

Whether it's moneylines or total goals, there are plenty of ways to bet on the NHL action all season. It's been a long 82-game campaign, meaning that the best selections of each night can be very different based on backup goalies coming into play, injuries that add up, and if teams are due for positive or negative swings. Now it's time for the Stanley Cup Final, pitting the best against the best from each conference.

Let's dive into the best bets for tonight.

NHL Best Bets

Edmonton Oilers at Florida Panthers

Under 5.5 Goals (-112)

The under has delivered time and time again in these playoffs. Let's roll with under 5.5 goals (-112) in Game 2 as the Oilers try to bring the series to one apiece against a tough Florida Panthers team.

Edmonton dominated for so much of the game against the Panthers but found themselves getting shutout in a 3-0 Game 1 loss. The Oilers had a 70 Corsi for per 60 minutes (CF/60) while the Panthers only had a 42 CF/60 -- despite being able to score three goals.

If Game 1 is to base anything off of, the Oilers should be able to find the back of the net in Game 2 as they had 3.74 expected goals for per 60 minutes (xGF/60). It's not going to come easy, however, as they learned in the first game -- giving me reason to believe that even with a great offensive effort by Edmonton, this game will stay low scoring.

Sergei Bobrovsky had one of the best games of his 14-year career, and he's likely to follow it up tonight with another strong showing.

The two-time Vezina Trophy winner made 32 saves, including a goal-saving breakaway stop against Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Bobrovsky now has a 2.08 goals against average (GAA), .915 save percentage (SV%) and impressive 11.74 goals saved above expectation (GSAx) in these playoffs.

I do expect the Panthers to bounce back in their overall play beyond keeping the Oilers out of the net, as they've ranked second in CF/60 in both the regular season (67.88) and playoffs (69.09).

Each of these two sides rank top five in the defense defensively, with the Panthers ranking second with 55.83 Corsi against per 60 minutes (CA/60) and the Oilers just behind in fourth with 56.7 CA/60. The mentality is about defense for both of these teams.

Defense and goaltending has won out in these playoffs. I trust that to remain the case tonight between the Oilers and Panthers.
