Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy hockey on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing our projections -- which are powered by numberFire -- as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NHL Prop Bets

Igor Shesterkin Over 29.5 Saves (-106)

As the series shifts back down south, the Florida Panthers will again have the edge in getting shots on net. In the two games at Amerant Bank Arena, they outshot the New York Rangers 77-46.

Igor Shesterkin was the reason the Rangers were able to hang around in these games. He made 33 and 37 saves, and followed it up with 34 saves in New York in Game 5.

The Panthers averaged the most shot attempts per 60 minutes at home during the regular season at 72.8. Even if they get just half of their attempts on goal, that should be enough for Igor to get over this number.

Since we don't have to lay a huge price on this bet, I'll happily take Shesterkin's save prop in Game 6.

Sam Reinhart Over 3.5 Shots (+114)

If we expect the Panthers to get a lot of shots in this game, there should be a player to bet on to go over his shot total. We're going to go with Sam Reinhart as our man in Game 6.

Reinhart was second in the NHL with 57 goals in the regular season. His 27 power-play goals led the league. The reason he was so dangerous on the power play was because he is the trigger man in the middle of the ice -- as we saw on the Game 4 overtime goal.

The Panthers have gotten at least three power plays in four of the five games in this series. If they get three in this game, it will go a long way to helping Reinhart get over his shot total.

Reinhart has only exceeded this total once in this series. However, he does have three shots in three different games with at least seven shot attempts in all of those games. We just need him to hit the net on one more of those to cash this.
