Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy hockey on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NHL Prop Bets

Nikita Kucherov Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (-125)

The Tampa Bay Lightning are slight -114 home favorites against the Boston Bruins, in what should be a high-intensity matchup.

Both teams are en route to the playoffs but their seeding is still up in the air, making this a very important game for both sides. We'll keep things simple with a hot prop for Nikita Kucherov, who has the seventh-most (274) shots on goal in the entire league.

Kucherov is also on a scorching hot scoring pace, with 123 points which is tied for the best in the league. He's a playmaker, a high-volume-shooter, and truly one of the best players in the league, giving us a very high level of consistency.

In three games against the Bruins this season, Kucherov has 18 shots on goal and 5 NHL points, which is what's expected with his time on the first forward line and the first power-play unit.

The Bruins are on the second night of a back-to-back, hopefully, giving the Lightning some fresh legs to pile up the shots.

Joonas Korpisalo Over 26.5 Saves (-125)

Next up, a save prop for Joonas Korpisalo from the Ottawa Senators.

Since the start of March, the Senators have allowed 60.01 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the 10th-most in the league. That translates to 30.01 actual Shots Against per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the 11th-most in the NHL.

Over that time, Korpisalo has racked up over 26.5 saves in four of his seven games, where he had at least 30 saves in those four games. Simply put, he's getting lit up with shots and he's not just getting to this 26.5 prop, he's going over by a good margin.

While the Buffalo Sabres are only taking 55.81 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations over the last two weeks which is 21st in the league, they are in a clear plus-matchup against the Senators, and are hunting for a Wild Card spot, making this a game where they need to keep their foot on the gas.
