Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy hockey on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NHL Prop Bets

Tyler Toffoli To Score a Goal (+165)

The Winnipeg Jets are massive -410 home favorites with a 3.55 implied goal total against the Anaheim Ducks.

Whether we look at the entire season or over the last two weeks, the Ducks remain in the bottom 10 in the league for the most Goals Allowed per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations. The same can be said about their defense when it comes to Total Shot Attempts Allowed in the same situations, where they sit in the bottom 12 of the league in the full season and the last two weeks.

They are a weak defense and with the Jets en route to the playoffs, this should be a rather one-sided matchup.

We'll turn to Tyler Toffoli, who was recently traded to the Jets from the New Jersey Devils. He only has two games under his belt with the Jets but has seen time on the second forward line and the first power-play unit.

While four shots in two games is nothing to write home about for Toffoli, he's a proven goal-scorer with 26 goals in 63 games this season. This is a perfect matchup to grab his first goal as a member of the Jets.

Kevin Fiala Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (+128)

Another playoff-bound team is the Los Angeles Kings, who are also coming off a loss and in a bounceback spot.

At this time of the year, I prefer to focus on teams that need to win as we can get a consistent level of playing time and production from their players. That is what we have with the Kings and Kevin Fiala, who comes in with 35 shots on goal over his last 10 games.

That is a level of production he should be able to continue tonight versus the lowly Chicago Blackhawks. This season, the Blackhawks' defense has allowed 65.17 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the fourth-worst in the league.

The Kings have been a very strong offensive team by generating 65.8 Total Shot Attempts in the same situations, which is the third-best in the league. This is a truly straightforward spot for Fiala and the Kings, who need to pick up the win tonight.
