Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy hockey on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Please note that betting lines and numberFire's projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.

NHL Prop Bets

Zach Hyman Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (-128)

Despite being down 2-1 in the series, the Edmonton Oilers have looked pretty solid against the Vancouver Canucks.

Through three games, the Oilers hold the total shot attempt advantage of 206-126 and actual shots on goal advantage of 94-61. Controlling the offensive tempo of the game is always a strong thing to do;just the Oilers need to convert a few more goals and get better goaltending overall to even up this series.

If the shots are heavily in favor of the Oilers, that's where we'll look for a bit of consistency, which brings me to Zach Hyman.

Hyman has been super solid for the Oilers in the playoffs and leads them with 36 shots on goal over their first eight games. That has allowed him to go over this prop in four straight games and six of eight overall.

Time on the top forward line and the top power-play unit will put him in a spot to continue that trend tonight.

Brandon Montour To Record 1+ Points (+108)

The Florida Panthers are -205 home favorites and will look to close out their series against the Boston Bruins.

Up 3-1 in the series, the defending Eastern Conference Champions from a year ago will look to make quick work of the Bruins. After a lackluster Game 1, this series has been all about the Panthers' offense.

A total of 15 goals in the last three games is a surprising amount for the playoffs -- but a spot that offers plenty of value. We'll turn to Brandon Montour, who's the defender on the first power-play unit for the Panthers.

He comes in with eight points in nine games during the playoffs along with 24 shots on goal. Montour is a solid offensive-minded defensemen who looks to get pucks to the net. This is the ideal option for a point prop, since a goal or a simple deflection can net him a point for plus money tonight.
