NHL Prop Bets

Mika Zibanejad Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-106)

Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals is tonight when the New York Rangers host the Florida Panthers.

With things tied 2-2, it sets us up for an exciting final few games of the series, where both teams will look to bring their A-game.

We'll start with the Rangers' top-line center, Mika Zibanejad, who needs to play a major role in their offense tonight.

Throughout the playoffs, Zibanejad is averaging 2.6 shots on goal per game, but that number has jumped up to 3.25 in four games this series. Yes, it's a smaller sample size but it's encouraging to see him at a higher volume as the most important games of the series happen.

The Rangers have been outshot 132-100 in this series, which has put them behind the eight ball in most games. With his role on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, Zibanejad needs to do more in terms of shot creation against the Panthers' defense.

Florida Panthers 1st Period To Record 10+ Shots on Goal (-114)

With the shots advantage heavily in favor of the Panthers, that's where we'll look for some value tonight.

In the 12 periods of regulation play, the Panthers have racked up at least 10 shots on goal six times. While that is only 50% of the time, it's important to note that five of those six periods have come in the last two games.

They started the series about even with the Rangers but have turned things up to a new level of offensive pressure in the last two games. That level of production is sustainable for the Panthers' offense, as they were one of the best teams in shot creation during the regular season.

As the road team, the Panthers will try to weather the storm by the home Rangers, then get to playing their style of hockey. That means a ton of pucks to the net and plenty of shots on goal.
