NHL Prop Bets

Alexis Lafrenière Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+102)

Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals is on tap tonight, as the New York Rangers look to even up the series against the Florida Panthers.

With the Rangers down 1-0 in the series, they need to make an effort to have consistent offensive pressure throughout the game. They ended with 24 shots on goal to the Panthers 27, but 12 of the 24 shots came during the third period.

Being held to only 12 shots on goal through two periods is not a path to success for any team at any time of the year, much less the Eastern Conference Finals.

We'll turn to Alexis Lafreniere, who skates on the second forward line alongside Artemi Panarin, who has 11 points in 11 playoff games, and Vincent Trocheck, who has 14 points in 11 playoff games.

Simply put, Panarin and Trocheck are veteran players, who have proven to be significant offensive threats on a nightly basis. Seeing the Panthers' defense shade a step closer to those two players before Lafrenière wouldn't be a surprise.

If this is going to give Lafrenière an extra bit of space, that will be his chance to shoot. He ended Game 1 with three shots on goal and three shots which didn't hit the net. Six total shot attempts are very solid for the "third" option on a forward line.

The Rangers should look to push on offense and tie up the series tonight, meaning plenty of shot attempts for everyone.

Adam Fox Over 1.5 Shots on Goal (-114)

What was said above remains true for Adam Fox.

Fox is the defender on the first defensive pairing and the first power-play unit, a spot he has thrived in for a few seasons.

With the Rangers needing more consistent offensive production, any shot is a good shot. This has been a recurring theme for the Rangers' offense throughout the playoffs, which has allowed Fox to go over this prop in six of his last eight games.

Extra chances on the power play will always be a benefit for shots on goal, which should be Fox's and the Rangers top priority tonight.
