Brewers vs. Phillies Betting Odds: Spread, Total, and Moneyline

  • Time: 4:05 p.m. ET
  • Spread: Phillies -1.5 (+106)
  • Total: 8.5
  • Moneyline:
    • Brewers: +160
    • Phillies: -190

Best Bet

Philadelphia Phillies Moneyline / Over 8.5 (+182)

The Philadelphia Phillies (43-19) will look to complete the series sweep over the Milwaukee Brewers (36-25) this late afternoon.

From a betting perspective, it might be worthwhile to get in on a Phillies moneyline and game total parlay.

Aaron Nola will be on the bump for Philadelphia. He's been solid this season and comes in with a 3.03 ERA, 3.38 xERA, 3.51 xFIP, 3.73 SIERA, and 1.03 WHIP.

Nola consistently puts the Phillies in position to win games, as the team is 10-2 when he takes the mound. With that being said, I don't expect him to leave today's contest unscathed.

Milwaukee's lineup has been dominant this season. They own a .262 BA (2nd), .336 wOBA (2nd), .422 SLG (3rd), and 119 wRC+ (tied for 2nd) versus right-handed pitchers.

Nola, meanwhile, lets up 1.28 HR/9 and has surrendered four home runs across his last three starts. The Brew Crew should be able to contribute to the game total, but the Phillies look primed to ultimately power through.

Aaron Ashby has been recalled from Triple-A and will get the ball for Milwaukee. He made one major league appearance in early April, giving up six hits, eight runs, and four earned runs through 3 2/3 innings.

Prior to that start, Ashby had not pitched in the majors since 2022. In that season, he sported a 4.44 ERA, 3.48 SIERA, and 1.26 HR/9. In 43 2/3 Triple-A frames this season, Ashby owns a 17.8% walk rate and 5.57 xFIP.

The lefty should be vulnerable in this matchup against Philadelphia. Entering the day, the Phillies are generating a .262 BA (6th), .334 wOBA (5th), .417 SLG (8th), and 117 wRC+ (6th) against left-handed pitchers.

Philadelphia is averaging 5.13 runs per game (2nd), and Milwaukee is scoring 5.02 runs per game (4th). Philly's average runs per game spikes to 5.49 at home.

The Phillies are a league-best 26-9 at home while the Brewers are 18-15 on the road. With +182 odds on this bet, I'm keen on backing the home team and the over.

Best Prop

Kyle Schwarber To Record 2+ Total Bases (+120)

Philadelphia's leadoff hitter could strike early in this game.

Kyle Schwarber touts a .315 BA, .489 SLG, and 166 wRC+ versus lefties.

He rode the struggle bus in the early days of this season but has since recorded at least two bases in 17 of his last 34 games (50.0%), so I'm happy to get +120 odds (45.45% implied probability) on this prop, particularly with this matchup in mind.

Ashby has allowed lefties to go 2-for-2 this season, including a double and a home run. That sample is brutally small, but he has surrendered a .284 BA and .431 SLG to left-handed batters in his career.

This season, Schwarber has recorded 29 hits, 5 home runs, and 17 RBIs in 92 at-bats against lefties. He's mustered only 23 hits, 6 home runs, and 18 RBIs against righties despite receiving 133 at-bats versus this handedness.

I expect him to take advantage of the friendly matchup.
