Here at FanDuel Research, we're going to provide some SGPs builds to consider based on the games and props available for today, but there are plenty more popular parlay ideas available at FanDuel's Parlay Hub, too!

MLB SGP Bets for Friday 7/19/24

Philadelphia Phillies at Pittsburgh Pirates

Aaron Nola to Record 6+ Strikeouts (-200)
Bryce Harper to Record 2+ Total Bases (-135)
Alec Bohm to Record an RBI (+110)

Combined Odds: +405

Before the All-Star break, Aaron Nola was seemingly finding his groove in the strikeout department for the Philadelphia Phillies. Nola tallied six-plus Ks in each of his last five starts, including nine strikeouts against the Los Angeles Dodgers his last time on the mound.

Across 19 starts in 2024, Nola ranks in the 88th percentile in chase rate (33.0%) and 67th percentile in strikeout rate (24.5%) while the Pittsburgh Pirates have the second-highest CSW percentage (28.7%). Besides the Pirates logging the sixth-highest strikeout rate (24.2%) against right-handed pitching, they are recording the third-lowest wOBA (.292), fourth-lowest wRC+ (86), and fourth-lowest ISO (.137) in that split.

Martin Perez is set to start for Pittsburgh on Friday, and he's giving up a .365 wOBA, 1.47 WHIP, and 1.53 HR/9 with just a 14.5% strikeout rate to lefties. Perez is also permitting a .381 wOBA, 1.67 WHIP, and 1.29 HR/9 to righties, making both Bryce Harper and Alec Bohm enticing players to target.

Harper is registering a .429 wOBA, 180 wRC+, and .282 ISO versus southpaws this season. Additionally, Harper is posting a .553 wOBA or better against Perez's three primary pitches (sinker, cutter, and changeup) against left-handed hitters.

Sometimes, batters who take part in the Home Run Derby can go through a slump at the plate following the All-Star break. Despite that, Bohm should be in a good spot today as he has gone 8-for-16 with one home run and only three strikeouts in his career versus Perez.

Entering Friday's contest, Harper is being given +400 odds to hit a home run while Bohm has +680 odds in the same market.

Chicago White Sox at Kansas City Royals

Michael Wacha Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-140)
Salvador Perez to Record an RBI (-110)
Kansas City Royals -1.5 (+100)

Combined Odds: +395

On the surface, Michael Wacha of the Kansas City Royals isn't a pitcher we want to target for strikeouts. Wacha is sitting in just the 35th percentile in whiff rate (23.2%) and 38th percentile in strikeout rate (20.9%) through 16 starts.

However, Wacha has racked up five-plus Ks in three of his last four appearances, and he faces a dismal Chicago White Sox team on Friday. The White Sox are sporting the second-worst wOBA (.275), worst wRC+ (75), worst ISO (.120), and ninth-highest strikeout rate (23.9%) against right-handed pitchers in the last 30 days.

Chris Flexen is expected to be on the bump for Chicago, putting Kansas City's bats in a premier spot in this matchup. While Flexen gives up worse numbers to lefties this season, Salvador Perez owns a .354 wOBA, 127 wRC+, and .208 ISO against right-handed pitching, and he's tallied at least one RBI in four of his last five outings.

Perez is carrying +390 odds to hit a home run on Friday.

With the Royals being the much better team overall, we'll take them to win by multiple runs against the White Sox. Kansas City and Chicago have faced each other seven times this season, and the Royals have won by two-plus runs in five of those meetings.

Boston Red Sox at Los Angeles Dodgers

Rafael Devers to Record an RBI (+105)
Freddie Freeman to Record an RBI (+145)

Combined Odds: +412

At the moment, Gavin Stone appears to be the projected starter for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday versus the Boston Red Sox. Stone surrendered four earned runs in each of his last two starts before the All-Star break, making Rafael Devers a bat we want to utilize in this SGP.

Devers was red-hot before the break, recording at least one RBI in 9 of his last 13 contests -- with 6 home runs during that span. Furthermore, Devers has a .372 wOBA or better against Stone's three primary pitches (changeup, four-seam fastball, and sinker) versus left-handed hitters.

Nick Pivetta, Boston's starter tonight, was racking up Ks at an elite clip before the break, reaching 10 strikeouts in each of his last two starts. After achieving double-digit Ks in his last two starts versus the Oakland Athletics and Miami Marlins, Pivetta should have a tougher time on the mound against the Dodgers.

Even though Pivetta is in the 87th percentile in strikeout rate (28.8%), he is giving up a 50.0% flyball rate in road games versus left-handed hitters while also sitting in the 12th percentile in barrel rate. Aside from Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman is another lefty who could do damage with Pivetta starting.

In addition to posting at least one RBI in two of his last three contests, Freeman is sporting an elite .413 wOBA, 172 wRC+, and .228 ISO against right-handed pitching. Ahead of Friday's Red Sox-Dodgers clash, Devers has +350 odds to hit a home run while Freeman has +450 odds in the same market.
