Looking for a new way to bet on Major League Baseball this summer? A Same Game Parlay (SGP) at FanDuel Sportsbook might be the answer!

SGPs allow you to combine two or more selections from the same game for a higher potential payout. For more information about parlays, SGP, and SGP+, head over to FanDuel.

Here at FanDuel Research, we're going to provide some SGPs builds to consider based on the games and props available for today, but there are plenty more popular parlay ideas available at FanDuel's Parlay Hub, too!

Which correlated bets stand out for today's MLB slate? Let's dig in.

MLB Same Game Parlay Bets for Wednesday 5/8/24

Chicago White Sox at Tampa Bay Rays

Chris Flexen Under 3.5 Strikeouts (-154)
Josh Lowe to Record 2+ Total Bases (-110)

Combined Odds: +203

Chris Flexen is typically a starting pitcher we want to target every time he's on the bump, and Wednesday's contest versus the Tampa Bay Rays isn't an exception. The veteran starter for the Chicago White Sox isn't much of a strikeout pitcher, and he invites plenty of contact when he's on the mound.

Across five starts and seven total appearances this season, Flexen is in the 26th percentile in chase rate (25.0%), 10th percentile in whiff rate (18.6%), and eighth percentile in strikeout rate (13.6%). While Flexen has hit four-plus Ks in three of his five starts, he struck out just two batters when facing the Rays less than two weeks ago despite pitching five innings.

With Flexen producing worse metrics against lefties, Josh Lowe to record two-plus bases is an enticing leg to add to this SGP. Lowe recently returned from an IL stint to begin the season, and he's gone 3-for-9 with a double in his first two games in 2024.

At the moment, Flexen is permitting a .380 wOBA and .600 SLG to left-handed bats compared to a .303 wOBA and .343 SLG to right-handed bats. Just to tack on to that, Flexen is in the 31st percentile in average exit velocity (89.7 MPH) and 36th percentile in barrel rate (8.3%).

Lowe is being given +520 odds to hit a home run in Wednesday's White Sox-Rays showdown.

The one concern is Flexen is also in the 38th percentile in walk rate (9.6%) as he's walked multiple batters in four of his five starts. Getting walked once or twice by Flexen could limit Lowe's opportunities to get hits that result in bases.

Houston Astros at New York Yankees

Juan Soto to Record a Run (-195)
Aaron Judge to Record an RBI (-105)
New York Yankees Over 4.5 Total Runs (-130)

Combined Odds: +238

There aren't many players -- if any -- who are better than Juan Soto at finding ways to get on base. Since putting on the pinstripes in his debut season with the New York Yankees, Soto is sporting a .450 wOBA, .454 OBP, .250 ISO, 197 wRC+, 13.4% strikeout rate, and an impressive 17.6% walk rate against right-handed pitchers.

On Wednesday, Soto and the Yankees will be taking on Spencer Arrighetti and the Houston Astros. Arrighetti has had an up-and-down first four starts this year, sitting in the 95th percentile in barrel rate (2.0%), 80th percentile in hard-hit rate (32.7%), 78th percentile in whiff rate (30.0%), and 69th percentile in strikeout rate (25.9%).

At the same time, Arrighetti is in the 17th percentile in walk rate (12.3%), which is why we'll take Soto to score a run instead of his total bases prop. Along with Soto, we are going to back Aaron Judge to record an RBI versus the Astros.

Arrighetti is permitting a .449 wOBA and .567 SLG to right-handed hitters compared to a .327 wOBA and .342 SLG to left-handed hitters. Taking that into account, Judge has a chance to continue his recent stretch of success where he has a hit in four straight games and an RBI in three consecutive contests.

Lastly, we'll side with the Yankees to score five-plus runs at home with Arrighetti struggling to keep runners off base. Besides Arrighetti allowing four-plus earned runs in two of his four starts, Houston's bullpen is posting the 10th-worst SIERA (3.87), sixth-worst WHIP (1.41), and ninth-worst HR/9 (1.09).

San Francisco Giants at Colorado Rockies

Peter Lambert Under 3.5 Strikeouts (-164)
Thairo Estrada to Record a Run (-140)
Michael Conforto to Record an RBI (-105)

Combined Odds: +316

Another right-handed starter we want to target on Wednesday is Peter Lambert of the Colorado Rockies. Lambert is set to make his third start of the season with a matchup versus the San Francisco Giants at home following a rough outing against the Miami Marlins.

Not only is Lambert in the 32nd percentile in strikeout rate (20.0%) and 34th percentile in walk rate (10.0%), he isn't pitching deep enough into games to achieve four-plus strikeouts. In his only two starts, Lambert has yet to pitch more than 3.1 innings, allowing four-plus earned runs in each start.

While the Giants have the 13th-highest strikeout rate (23.2%), Lambert has given up 10-plus batted ball events in each of his two starts. Despite Lambert produce worse numbers against lefties, Thairo Estrada can get on base and score a run for San Francisco.

Estrada is showing reverse splits at the plate, logging a .345 wOBA and .505 SLG versus right-handed pitching compared to a .163 wOBA and .182 SLG to left-handed pitching. The 28-year-old infielder is now seemingly batting second against righties, and he's registered a run in four consecutive games.

To take advantage of Lambert allowing a .456 wOBA and .656 SLG to left-handed bats, we'll take Michael Conforto to record an RBI from the cleanup spot. Aside from having the second-most RBIs (18) on the Giants, Conforto has an RBI in two of his last three appearances.
