Today’s Best MLB Playoffs Picks and Predictions

Phillies Moneyline (-118)

Phillies at Braves, 2 p.m. ET

After a clean sweep in yesterday’s article, I’m starting today’s picks with the Philadelphia Phillies moneyline versus the Atlanta Braves.

I like the Phillies to bounce back in Game 2 behind Cristopher Sánchez.

Sánchez gives Philadelphia a significant starting-pitching edge over Tyler Mahle. Sánchez finished the regular season with a 2.91 ERA, and his underlying numbers have supported his performance throughout the year. He posted a 27.0% strikeout rate and 14.5% swinging-strike rate.

Mahle presents a much more appealing matchup for the Phillies’ lineup. While his overall numbers improved later in the season, Mahle had a meh 9.7% swinging-strike rate for the year.

The Phillies went 23-10 in Sánchez’s starts this season.

With Philadelphia facing elimination after dropping Game 1 and holding the edge in the starting-pitching matchup, I’m backing the Phillies moneyline.

Jazz Chisholm to Record 2+ H/R/RBI (+140)

Red Sox at Yankees, 8 p.m. ET

I’m interested in Jazz Chisholm to record at least two combined hits, runs and RBIs against the Boston Red Sox.

Chisholm has continued to make loud contact this season. His average exit velocity sits at 90.5 MPH, up 1.4 MPH from his 2025 mark. That gives him a few paths to cash a prop like this, where a single hit followed by a run is enough to get us home.

The matchup with Sonny Gray is certainly challenging. Gray finished the regular season with a 2.72 ERA, and left-handed hitters managed just a .228 average, .287 OBP and .289 wOBA against him across 110 2/3 innings. Still, they did homer 10 times against Gray, so he wasn't completely immune to damage from that side of the plate.

That’s why I prefer Chisholm in this combo market rather than something that requires an extra-base hit. He doesn’t need to solve Gray multiple times to get there, and batting in a dangerous New York Yankees lineup gives him opportunities to add a run or RBI even if he finishes with only one hit.

Cubs Moneyline (+116)

Cubs at Padres, 10 p.m. ET

I’m willing to back the Chicago Cubs on the moneyline against the San Diego Padres.

Despite what we saw last night, Chicago has matched up extremely well with San Diego this season. The Cubs won four of their five regular-season meetings with the Padres, including a three-game sweep at Petco Park in late June.

The Cubs also bring considerably more offensive upside than San Diego. They averaged 5.2 runs per game during the regular season, and the heart of the lineup features plenty of ways to do damage. Pete Crow-Armstrong finished with 45 homers and 41 steals, while Seiya Suzuki posted an .841 OPS with 26 home runs.

Padres expected starter Nick Pivetta pitched just 34.2 MLB innings this season while RHP Kevin Gausman, the owner of a 3.67 SIERA in 2026, gives the Cubs an edge on the mound.
