Verdict

GOT THE CHOCOLATES (2) was remarkable in weaving through traffic for a last-to-first win in last week's Roy Purdon Memorial. That was his fourth success in five starts this campaign, his lone defeat a second to race rival The Lazarus Effect over a mile. This barrier may suit better than the inside draw he had last week so he should get his chance to strike again. SWAYZEE (1) has placed in all three starts of his latest NZ mission and while he was gunned down by Got The Chocolates after leading in the Purdon Memorial he was fighting back hard at the end. The longer trip means this race looks his best target of this NZ raid. Draws the inside and if can hold the lead and then dictate he could be tough to get past this time. THE LAZARUS EFFECT (5) draws outside his two main rivals but he has been terrific this campaign and placed the only time he tried this longer distance. Looks a big gap to the rest with WE WALK BY FAITH (8) clear fourth pick.
