Manners let MEANT TO BE (10) down last start but the prior form was terrific, chasing the Aussie stars for fourth in the TAB Trot two back to follow his Lyell Creek Stakes win at this venue. His strike rate here is strong and while untried at two miles he is a player with his A-game. It's been a while between drinks for OSCAR BONAVENA (8) but he has been racing well and is building towards another win. The last-start third put the writing on the wall and he is accomplished at 2m so could break though. MR LOVE (7) was back in distance for the last-start fourth to follow a win and a second over 1 ?m. Has placed in two of three tries at two miles. Big chance. HIGHER POWER (5) tries this journey for the first time but his form is hard to knock and he must be respected off a string of wins and placings at this circuit.
