FOLIEJON STAR (5) was responsible for a far better performance last start when he scored by 2.75 metres over 1 7/16m at Mt Harding. This looks a sterner test than last time but he is capable of making it two on end. CARLIN (2) was struggling to make his mark before the latest appearance when he scored by 5 metres over 1 ½m at Mt Harding. A nice draw on the front line should ensure a cosy run. Meeting a deeper field this time but he has the ability to mix it with them. JOYRIDE (9) ended last prep with a sixth at Melton over 1 ¹/16m three-and-a-half months ago. Capable of a forward showing while fresh. SPICEY LOU (4) cannot be ruled out after breaking his maiden status a week-and-a-half ago over 1 5/16m at Motukarara Raceway.
