STOUT (1) failed to cop a heavy track at Riccarton 2 weeks ago, and is nicely placed in an easier field with the aid of a 7lbs claim. His only win came on this track, and he can bounce back into form in this. Each way. LUCKY FERRANDO (3) ran on late on both days at Cromwell, and then copped a tough trip off a wide gate here just over 6 weeks ago when also needing the run. He slides down a class, and only needs the gaps to come to be back in the top 4 here. IMPERATIVE (9) had a chequered run fresh up and was not far off the winner before having a rocky trip here second up 3 weeks ago. She is peaking at the right time, and a form reversal is on the cards. MIRAQUA (4) poked through late when finishing fourth at Trentham 5 weeks ago. That sort of form makes him a top 3 chance in this field. ELOISE (7) has yet to show any form in 3 starts this prep, but with the blinkers on, she is capable of much better. Include in all top 4 combos.
