Verdict

TISSE (3) came from last with a big finish when winning his penultimate start on this track, and he then made up late ground off a slow tempo at Waverley last time out. He will be out the back of this field from a wide gate, but he would only need the right run into it on the home turn, to go close to taking this out. MCKHAN (5) has really hit his straps this prep as a 7YO gelding, and his last start win at Waverley was very convincing. He is likely to make an early run once again in this field, and in his current space, the hat-trick beckons. PACIFICO (2) fought on gamely for third at Ellerslie 5 weeks ago, and his form this prep has been very good. A wide gate here is no help, but he is still a top 4 chance. HEZA SHARP ONE (16) steps up in class after his last start second at Tauranga 4 weeks ago, but the drop in weight makes him a top 4 chance again. CHEVAL DE FOUDRE (9) has yet to run a bad race this prep, and he will be suited by the step up to 1 ?m here. Stick with him.

Most recently eased back early on 6th of 10 at Waverley on July 4 over 1m, on a slow track, 6 len behind Mckhan with 132lbs at $4.60. Before that came home strongly from last on the turn and won by a neck at this track June 13 over 1m on a soft track defeating Joshua Brown carrying 123lbs at $11. Is good enough to take this out.
