Verdict

HEZA SHARP ONE (1) has been freshened after having a tough trip at Ellerslie in BM75 grade nearly 6 weeks ago. He won here by a neck at this level before that, and will have a nice swing in his draw this time. Stick with him on top. AFTERGLO (6) was looking for more ground when finishing ninth at Whanganui a fortnight ago, and will be having her first run over a middle distance here. The winkers go on, and more importantly, Opie Bosson will take over the reins. Don't treat her lightly. Each way. JOEJOECCINI (2) failed to fire and finished behind the top pick in the same race last time out. His form prior at this level was good, and he can bounce straight back into the money here. ZACABASSO (12) stepped up in trip for the first time, and got the job done, scoring an overdue win by over a length. She is only now reaching her peak as a 5-year-old mare, and she can go on with the job. SONORAN (3) was much better when running on strongly to finish runner-up at Ellerslie 2 weeks ago.
