Verdict

AYUMI (10) is a promising filly who resumed with a tough effort for third as the favourite at New Plymouth nearly 5 weeks ago. She had won a Taupo trial easily before that, and should be spot-on with her condition now. Craig Grylls takes over from an apprentice, and she can get the job done this time. Follow your money. ASTRUM (8) was well in the market when weakening late and finishing midfield at Arawa Park just over a month ago. She might already be looking for more ground, but she can be a quick improver, so stick with her. STAY FROSTY (1) charged late and finished a game runner-up by a short-head at Tauranga when making his debut there 7 weeks ago. He is bred to stay, but has been kept fresh, and he should be storming home late again. LE JACQUES CARTIER (4) makes his debut off the back of 3 trial wins. Opie Bosson in the saddle is a strong lead, and the market moves are to be respected. Can win. SILKY SHUBA (5) was a touch flat last start, but can do better. Don't drop her yet.
