Verdict

SILKY SHUBA (10) has yet to crack it after nine runs but showed promise with a placing fresh up here before a fair effort at Ellerslie. Finds the right field, and she can get the job done this time. LUMBRIDGE CASTLE (6) lines up for his first race outing, and the Ardrossan gelding has caught the eye with a smart Taupo trial win. He is in good hands and is likely to have plenty of market support. CAPOTE (3) resumed with a solid third at Arawa Park over 6f 3 weeks ago, and he strips fitter second-up. He cops a wide gate, but can figure in the top 3 again. MERCHANT BANKER (1) resumes from a lengthy break after tackling some stronger company last prep. He will be stronger this year, and he has always promised to win more than 1 race. Don't risk him, especially from a good draw. ODDS AND ENDS (2) has been thereabouts in both of his starts to date, and he maps to settle just off the early pace. He will be peaking third up, and he is an each-way hope again.
