DICKO'S DANCE (3) jumped well to put himself on the pace but had to come wide before the turn, hitting the front well out & fought fairly on debut. Stick with him. PROTEUS (2) made up a tonne of ground from the rear when long odds on debut in August then couldn't capitalise on handier run up to this trip last time. Fitter now & wide gate may help here. ROYAL ASSETT (10) charged home from the tail of the field on debut at Taupo over 5 ½f and similar last time over 6f. 7f should suit. VODKA AND CAVIAR (9) got home strongly from the rear for 2nd when fresh at Matamata in a similar run to her debut. Respect here. SIR DARCY (8) is a full brother to Sky Heart ($1.2m) & Yaldi ($391k) & he was putting in big bounds late in his Ellerslie trial 2nd.
