Verdict

COULTHARD (5) made progress last prep without winning, but was only beaten by a head in his last couple of starts. He resumes with a couple of trials under his belt, and with the race over 7f, he has done plenty of work at home. Hard to beat. GUZZLER (12) got too far back in a good field at Ellerslie a fortnight ago over 6 ½f, If he can trek into the race a touch earlier this time, then he can bounce back into some good form. Each way. MY FERRARI (9) set the pace and weakened late in a good field at New Plymouth a fortnight ago over 1m. The drop back to 7f will suit him, and he can bounce straight back into the top 3 here. Stick with him. DAMIANO (2) really found some top form at the end of his last prep, and he should be further improved this season. He has trialled up well, and won't be far away.
