SHAMELIA KIRK (6) won a pair of Foxton trials impressively before finishing runner-up as a warm favourite on debut at Woodville just over 5 weeks ago when trying to make all the running over 5 ½f. Dropping back to 5f should help here, and she can take them all the way this time. Follow your money. HIDDEN SPARK (10) makes her debut from an astute stable with no public trials. The New Plymouth track does hold local jump-outs, and she has had experience there, and using the market as our best guide is the wide choice. ALONOTAS (3) was very disappointing on debut in the spring, and will be a lot stronger this year. His trial form suggests that he has ability, and he can be a rapid improver fresh up. THUNDER SQUIRREL (5) was runner-up in his only public trial, and he is bred to swim in wet ground. He has a reasonable draw, and if not too green, he can figure in the top 3 on debut. MR CHOW (1) has the race-day experience, and he is open to further improvement. Include in all combos.
