CHARMROSE (6) ran a strong race when narrowly beaten by a short-head over 6f at Tauranga last time out, just over 8 weeks ago. The gap between runs will do her no harm, and from a good gate, she is the one to beat here. PLATINUM PANTHEON (8) was dominant when scoring over 6f at Waipukurau by nearly 3 lengths a fortnight ago. Bruno Queiroz keeps the ride, and off a strong tempo, the pair can have the last say again. BRAZEN AFFAIR (5) resumes after six months. She was a real find on the Cambridge poly track surface, and with more time to mature, she can spring boldly fresh up in this. Check the market. MAD MAX (10) hasn't been seen since finishing fourth at Ellerslie 7 weeks ago. A recent trial placing suggests he is forward in condition, and he is definitely good enough to take this out. SCOLERA (12) has been showing a lot of promise in her short career to date. She duly saluted as the favourite at Matamata 15 days ago, and she can figure in the top 3 here as well.
