Verdict

PETITE ROCHER (8) was sent out as a $2.30 favourite last start off the back of her debut second at Whanganui, but she disappointed when seventh over 7f at Te Rapa after looming large on the final bend. She is capable of much better, and Craig Grylls keeps the faith. On top. IVY TIME (5) is a promising maiden after 4 runs, including a placing in her penultimate start. Last time she was a fair fifth as the favourite over 7f at Otaki. Blinkers go on, and she looks ready to bounce straight back into the top 3 here. SIR YOU CAN DANCE (1) improved sharply at his second start, going down by a neck over 7f at Tauranga. He is heading the right way and won't be in this grade for much longer. FURIOSA (4) hasn't been far away in two runs this prep and won't lack any fitness. A good draw helps her, and having Sam Collett in the saddle is a plus, so stick with her. SPRING MOON (6) resumes from a spell without a trial, but her stable always has its team ready to rumble. Check the market.

Third race start today. When well in the market at debut, crossed from a wide gate to settle just off the pace but gave ground when 2nd of 14 at Wanganui on January 10 over 6 ¾f, 0.1 len behind Think I Got Cha with 115lbs at $4.80. Last start raced on the speed throughout before fading 7th of 14 at Te Rapa on January 30 over 7f, on a slow track, 8 len behind Super Legocy carrying 121lbs at $2.30. Can do much better this time.
