Verdict

PAPER ROMANCE (1) has continued to improve with racing, and was only beaten by a nose at Te Rapa just over 3 weeks ago. He has a superior gate this time, and with Bridget Grylls riding in good form at the moment, he can go one better here. ASVAKAN (2) was well in the market in a 6-horse field at Tauranga a fortnight ago and finished a modest fourth. He will be better for that first run over a middle distance, and he can figure in the top 3 this time. TEAMS (4) finished just over a length from the winner in fourth place when having his first start from the Dean Wiles stable. He has promised to run into the top 3 at time in his career, and in this field that lacks depth, he is worth including. SACRED SIN (10) was a warm favourite when finishing at the rear of the field at Avondale 11 days ago. He is worth another chance with less weight to carry. PLAYINASANDPIT (11) was a well beaten fifth here 3 weeks ago, and will have no fitness concerns third up from a spell. Each way claims.
