JAIMEE MARIE (3) makes her debut and has been given plenty of time to mature. She was close up in a recent quiet trial at Avondale, and the wide draw is our main concern, but if the track is heavy, then is may be a blessing in disguise. Let the market be the best guide. HEBRIDEAN WAY (1) is a recent Australian import, and his only run there was on debut at Ballarat-Synthetic when finishing fifth. He is bred to want more ground than 1150, but with a couple of sharp trials under his belt, he should be ready to run a big race, especially if the fence is the place to be. WITHALLMYGRACE (2) improved quickly second to finish runner-up as the favourite at Ruakaka 15 days ago on a reasonable surface. She cops another wide gate, but will be peaking for this, and she can go one better. VALSOEUR (4) won a trial nicely prior to producing a poor effort on debut at Tauranga nearly 2 months ago. She is much better than that, and we will give her another chance. CIABATTA (5) is worth including.
