Verdict

ARABIAN LIGHT clearly wasn't 100% at Ascot last time but had previously shaped as though he could be a bit better than a handicapper. He's taken to defy top weight and get the better off Ancient Rome, who took a step in the right direction in the Royal Hunt Cup and may build on that stepping back up in trip. Best Adventure won with a bit in hand over C&D last month and is respected in receipt of plenty of weight.

Arabian Light silk

Showed improved form to win a 16-runner handicap at Meydan (9f) in February prior to posting a smart effort from a career-high mark when third at Newmarket (9f) in May. Possibly amiss when well beaten in the Royal Hunt Cup last month and now stepped back up in trip. Well worth another chance.

Ancient Rome (Usa) silk

Smart at his best, acquitting himself well in Group company last season. Shaped as though back on the up when creditable tenth in the Royal Hunt Cup last month, still going well over 1f out and stayed on to finish third in his group. One to consider back up in trip.

Best Adventure (Ire) silk

Improved for the step up to 10f when off the mark at Newmarket in May. Not at his best over a longer trip at Haydock next time but resumed progress returned to 10f at this course when winning a 9-runner handicap with a bit in hand. Receives plenty of weight here and could be a danger to all.
