GOLD SPIRIT (9) showed plenty of grit last start, only just missing the bob after setting a strong tempo in front. He draws wide again but meets I Am Velvet 6lbs better at the weights. Expect King to press forward early once more and prove very tough to run down. I AM VELVET (8) improved sharply third-up, arriving just in time to score. She concedes weight to Gold Spirit but remains open to further improvement and should settle much closer from the kinder draw. DOBBINAIR (7) had been knocking on the door all prep before finally bursting through last time with a strong inside run to score. Now that he's found winning form, he's worth sticking with. STAR SIRIUS (10) drops back to a sprinting trip after a month between runs and brings ratings that measure up. If she can make use of the inside draw, she's right in the mix. WIGGUM (5) resumes from a short break and is a noted fresh performer, with two solid trials suggesting he's ready to fire.
