POCKET PYRO (13) has the most appealing profile after placing at both starts and she looks ready to peak third-up. She was beaten three and a half lengths as a dominant odds-on favourite at Balaklava, so the market expected more, but her debut third had substance and she has already beaten Never Pegasus in a recent clash. SHOGUN CHIKARA (4) brings the sharpest debut figure after being beaten a neck at Gawler, where he was near the top of an open market and was pipped late after racing keenly. The slight freshening into this is no negative and natural improvement makes him a clear danger. NEVER PEGASUS (15) has been close in two of four starts, including a long-neck second as favourite at Penola on soft ground, and he has already placed at this track and distance. ASHEN GLOW (1) is the seasoned runner in the quartet, comes here third-up off a solid fourth at Strathalbyn, and the apprentice claim helps offset a modest winning record.
