The brilliant 3-day Warrnambool Carnival kicks off with a 10-race card, including 4 jumping races that are always action-packed. A maiden hurdle for 50K will start things off. SHAMARKAND (7) makes his jumping debut after relocating from NSW earlier in the year. He is an accomplished performer on the flat, but never quite found his best in Aus. His trial form has been good, and he copes with a wet track. Hard to beat. ONGATITI (5) was third at Terang 16 days ago when making his jumping debut. He will only be better for the experience, and he can take this out. SIRIUS BLACK (8) gets through wet ground, dons the blinkers again, and a handy 7lbs claim will see him make an immediate impact in this role. CHRISTMAS (1) resumes from a freshen up, but in that time away, he has had 4 jumping trials, so he won't lack any fitness. Follow the market moves. SLOMO (9) was fourth fresh up from a long spell, and he is backing up quickly. He has talent in this role, and won't be far away.
