SMARTICON (4) hasn't raced since a smart win at Geelong over 5 ½f five-and-a-half weeks ago. Kept up to the mark with a placing in a recent trial at Caulfield Heath. Looks hard to hold out again. GAME THEORY (15) is a veteran who has been mixing distances. Best form stacks up nicely and looks a live chance wit the light weight. ELLMAKNIFICO (11) has found the line strongly last couple and among the chances again. THE CUBAN (12) doesn't win out of turn but is a local who looks close to a win. Bombed the start last time and settled at the tail but flashed home to finish a close-up third just a length from the winner. Drops in weight with the claim and should be winding up strongly.

Allowance Race

A race with non-claiming conditions set by the racing secretary. They are meant to be a step down from stakes racing.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.
