AMBITIOUS ACHIEVER (1) put in a good effort on debut at Kilmore, in the market on that occasion and sticking on well for second, beaten a length. He should come on plenty from that and if Riordan can get across early from the wide gate he'll be very hard to catch. THUNDERBOLT WAY (9) ran well first up off a long break at Wodonga, kept very safe in betting there and holding down second. He'd been tested in two better races prior to that and should strip fitter with winning claims. SO VOGUE (7) raced on the speed last time but couldn't finish the race off when fourth at Wodonga in the same race as Thunderbolt Way. He too was in the market there and can improve. IT MATTERS (14) was much better second up and has claims with further improvement while BRILLANTEZZA (12) is a filly by Castelvecchio on debut who can run well.

Two or more horses finishing so close at the wire, that they were unable to be separated on a photo finish and deemed to have tied.

A horse entered for main track only (MTO) is one hoping the weather forecast or track conditions will move the race off the turf course and onto the main track. They are scratched the morning of the race if the conditions stay dry.
