INDEPENDANT LAD (8) looks the one to beat having made nice improvement at his second start at Wangaratta, closing off well for second. Better again and sets up nicely from the inside. YELLOWKNIFE (7) did a fair job on debut last time out, finishing 5 lengths from the winner in sixth over 5 ½f at Seymour. Was in the market there and can improve quickly. PRAGMATIC LADY (11) stepped out on her debut over 5f at Ballarat Synthetic and finished fifth, beaten 1.75 lengths. To 6f should suit and she can figure. SPIN CLASS (6) didn't fire in a stronger maiden on debut before a spell. Wouldn't shock to see improvement this time around.
