BROADHURST (6) is third up and has been freshened a month. Readied for this with a trial win and has more up the sleeve. Rates one of the top contenders. DUBAI FOUNTAIN (9) just missed as favourite at Tumut and has the rail. A lightly raced improver who shouldn't be underestimated. HEY BELLA (7) resumes and has prepared well. Worth a betting watch.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.

Tack

The equipment the horse wears, including saddle and bridle. A jockey typically has their own racing saddle, placed on each horse they ride just before the race.

Allowance Race

A race with non-claiming conditions set by the racing secretary. They are meant to be a step down from stakes racing.
