Promising filly SET ME FREE (13) has her hoof firmly on the till after two nice runs to launch her career. Started at $1.40 when she stepped up to the mile at Cranbourne last start but found one better despite working home well. This isn't as strong and the longer trip looks ideal. Should be breaking through today. The locally trained APADANA (10) produced a real eye-catcher when fresh from a spell for the new stable over 7 ¾f at Mt Gambier last time out, storming home from near the tail to be beaten half a length. Crying out of this sort of journey. The obvious threat. DURHAM (5) has been strong through the line at each of his three runs this prep, the latest when just outside the placings over the mile at Stawell. Should relish the extra distance today. WOMBAT (8) is a dour three-year-old whose last couple of efforts over 1 ¼m have been his best. Sure to be thereabouts again. The lightly raced MAJESTIC GLOW (11) can improve with a step up in trip.
