MISS DECEIVER (16) was very good first-up at Pakenham when beaten under a length over 5f after racing handy throughout. Went poorly at the latest run at Geelong, but it is noteworthy that the second-up run last prep also saw a dip in the ratings from the first-up effort. Good enough to turn things around. Six-time placegetter LIBBY ANN (10) faded at the end of a mile at Stawell last time out when on a five-day back-up. Curious move to drop back to 6f, with 6 ½f being the shortest race the five-year-old has contested. Nevertheless, has the talent to test this moderate field. FIGURANTE (6) has been struggling but is rock hard fit now after four runs back and might surprise. WATT ON EARTH (5) resumes. Better over more ground but a strong jump-out at Ballarat recently suggests he can make a positive return. GREEN AMBER (7) ran a cheeky race at Naracoorte last start and Meech is a smart booking if they want to roll along in front again.
