Verdict

Heat of the Rising Stars Series for apprentices, which means the 7lbs claim for Shayleigh Ingelse aboard ELEANOR DUMONT (1) might hold extra weight, so to speak. Been in great form this prep, draws well and is a Heavy track winner. ARIZONA LUCK (11) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break, the latest when fourth, beaten 1.75 lengths, over 6f at Swan Hill. Should be ready to go now. NEVRA QUEEN (15) trotted home by six lengths last start, which was the only time she's seen a Heavy track so if we strike those conditions again she has to be included. QUEENSBURY (2) turned in a nice effort last time out at the second run of the campaign and finished just 1.75 lengths from the winner in second over 7f at Pakenham. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. JAMESJOHNO (3) will be better for the first-up run and has the advantage of Luke Cartwright, Victoria's leading metro apprentice.

Form hard to fault. Comes off a 43 day let-up. At the latest run sat on the speed and boxed on steadily 4th of 13 at Warrnambool Bm70 on May 7 over 1 ยน/16m, on a wet track, 3.5 len behind Astradeel with 128lbs at $3.10. The run before that favourite, won by 3.5 len at Terang Bm66 April 12 over 1m in heavy going defeating Jenny The Beaver carrying 128lbs at $2.40. Definite winning chance. Racing well and 7lbs claim looks extra-advantageous in apprentices-only race.
