Verdict

CARRIEDO (12) looks to have found the ideal race for this stage of the campaign. Beaten just under a length first up then went even closer last time out. Should be at peak fitness now, the extra trip is no issue and gets in well after the claim. BOOMEROO (10) resumes after two adequate runs in the debut campaign and draws perfectly for the return, which follows some handy jumpouts. THE DEFENDER (2) is a long-time maiden but has run well in races with more depth than this, so he needs to be in calculations, especially from the plum draw. IRELAND'S TEARS (5) is on debut and has been prepping up nicely for a cagey stable, so the market needs to be monitored closely especially from the good draw. ROMUALD (1) is yet to place in seven starts, but the best run of the career came first up and there could be further improvement to come here.

Resuming after a 12 weeks break. Finished off last preparation fourth of 13 at Seymour 3yo F Mdn-Sw December 18 over 7f, 3 len behind Dihheri carrying 126lbs at $18. On debut fourth of 9 at this track 3yo F Mdn-Sw November 26 over 7f, 6 len behind Venetian Choice with 126lbs at $3.80. Will be better for the debut prep and latest jumpout was highly encouraging.

Racing well recently. Most recently 4th of 14 at Seymour Mdn-Sw on February 20 over 6 ½f, 1.4 len behind Vim Vitae with 131lbs at $31. The run before that came from midfield, 2nd of 14 at Wangaratta Mdn-Sw on December 22 over 7f, slow going 2.75 len behind Lil Orlov with 131lbs at $11. Had a heap of chances, but also rarely runs poorly, so much come under consideration.
