Bates goes on today, and the gelding carries 4kgs less at this level. Rates well and comes back to the mile off a 32-day freshen. Placed in this race last year and can get back on track. SURPRISE COMING (10) is a South Australian who rates well of close-up efforts at Murray Bridge and Morphettville. Has Meech and the inside gate, and also carries less. He's a winning chance.
