THINKING OF GERTY (10) has an awkward gate to contend with, but rates well for this is presented on-song. She's raced well in better metro company and has won 3/4 fresh. Won a recent Echuca jumpout, and Coffey is a positive jockey engagement. VIASAIN (7) has been busting to win and was only beaten 2L in a 70 at Caulfield last time. Led and missed a whisker this grade at Pakenham prior and he can use the inside gate to advantage. The in-form Meech sticks with TENNESSEE SONG (9), who resumes owning a win at the Camperdown jump-outs. Has shown plenty in her short career, going back-to-back at the provincials before spelling off a solid effort at Sandown-Hillside. Will be naturally improved and has gate speed. JUST BOLTS (5) races forward and brings a string of narrow defeats. Meech is off, but winning rider Nugent goes back on. Is on a 9-day return, and he deserves another chance.
