Even contest with many chances. THURMOND (3) got things back on track last start when second up from a spell, making late inroads to get up for third over 1 ½m at Geelong. Scored at his only other third-up run. Ready to peak at the right time. MADESIAN (7) appreciated the step up in distance last time out when third at big odds over 1 ¼m at Ballarat. Finds an easier assignment today and although on trial at this trip it looks the right fit at this stage. SHOGUN EXPRESS (8) has failed to feature in two runs this preparation. Ready to put it together now out to a more likeable journey. JENNY THE BEAVER (14) doesn't win out of turn but boasts a better than average top three strike-rate for a stayer. Whacked away over 1 ½m at Geelong last time. At her peak now. FLASHLIGHT (2) has been freshened up since failing over this trip at Bendigo on 2 May. Form before that was hard to knock. Trialled well at Traralgon recently so should be up for this.
