Verdict

PALAZZO DAMA (8) returned from a 38-week spell and was having her first run in the Browne stable when an encouraging third over this distance at Sale last start. Showed good gate speed that day and will need it again from the wide draw. Likely improver who can get off the mark this time. Speedy filly LIGHT FILLED (6) had a 40-day break before her last run, a tiring fourth over today's trip at Ballarat. Strips fitter and this maiden looks a touch easier so she might take some running down. GINA'S A STAR (5) resumed after an eight-month spell as favourite recently over 5 ½f at Geelong but gave away too much start and just missed the placings. Not sure coming back in trip is ideal but with a stack of pace on show she should be mowing them down late. NEOTROPICAL (12) led for home but was passed by a couple when resuming as $2.05 favourite over this distance at Mornington last time. Can improve sharply. MORNING RALPH (1) ran a better race last start and is in contention also.
