Verdict

The speedy BAZABALL REWARDED (4) didn't run out 6f here in stronger, but won easily her three prior over 5f at the track. Jumped a short-priced favourite again and has been kept on the fresh side. Hits this at peak and the promising mare rates to bounce back. BLETHYN (5) resumed in good order with a narrow defeat at Moonee Valley at 70 level and then found an Open 3 at Flemington a stretch too far. Has Stackhouse aboard today and the blinkers go on for the first time. Much better suited and a bold run is on the cards. PACIFIC GLAMOUR (8) is a lightly raced improver from the McEvoy stable. Came off a long break to belt the Ballarat Maidens by 3.5L from the speed and is sure to improve with that under the belt. Has a wide gate but has to be kept safe. SEVEN OCEANS (12) didn't finish it off in town but ran a good number winning a Cranbourne Maiden first up prior. Maps well and Williams is a key jockey engagement. Goes in at a decent price.

Horse Racing Basic Terms

Furlong

One furlong is an eighth of a mile.

Bobble/Stumble

A slip or a duck from a horse trying to leave the starting gates, often caused by the surface giving way under the feet. This can range from a mild misstep to a stumble down to their knees.
